Haiku Prompt Challenge # 110: Change & Mind

This is my first-time entering Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Prompt Challenge. I was inspired to be a part of the challenge whenever I read Vashti Q-Vega's prompt posts.

Ronovan Hester @ Ronovan Writes is the host of this challenge that starts every Monday and the deadline ends Sunday. He chooses two words that are to be used in the challenge and anyone can participate. You can click the above link for the contest guidelines if interested in joining the challenge.

southern winter - (haiku)

cold sunny weather

mists small tropical island

north wind's frosty breath

I usually experience chilly weather this time of year in my hometown, unlike most parts of the island, but it's still nice going outdoors.

Not Amused (Monotetra)

I want to write and post today
But cannot find a word to say
All the stories have gone away
My mood is grey, my mood is grey

Where will I find the thoughts to write
A wordless screen gives me a fright
Writers' block haunt me day and night
Is this my plight, is this my plight

These jottings will not work for me
My muse it seems have set me free
She skipped on me for sun and sea
So doomed I be, so doomed I be

A Monotetra has 4 lines in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (4 metrical feet) for a total of 8 syllables. The last line contains 2 metrical feet which is repeated. There can be 1 stanza or many.

My Love Calls (Nonet)

My beloved was lost at sea one day
Sailing when the angry storm blew
I hear his voice call my name
His love for me still true
He came back for me
To sail the sea
Come with me
I miss
You

Tranquil Moments (Poetry)

Peace
Undisturbed
Alone and happy
Without a care

Tranquillity
Forgetting pain and frustration
I play with my conscience
Nothing to fear

Meditation
Deep inner thoughts
My mind refreshed
Intellect renewed

Silence is bliss

The Inner Child (Nonet)

There is a child within all of us
Always yearning to be carefree
To play around in the grass
And splash in rain puddles
Why do we restrain
This hidden soul
Who wants to
Relive
Youth

A Nonet has 9 lines with a 9 syllable count in the first line. It decreases in count per line. Rhyming is optional.

Love Is...

Love is finding pure perfection

In the persons we share our souls with

Ignoring their faults which are visible

No-one is perfect so we must accept

Them for who they are and always

See their inner beauty remembering

They will also be observing ours

Poetic justice taken. No punctuation.

Birthday Blessings!

A birthday is such a God given joy
I give you blessings, my cherished boy

Make a wish, blow out the candles on the cake
The future is a journey you will soon have to take

Birthdays only come but once per year
You are growing too much for me to bear

Once my baby, fastly approaching adulthood
I'll do my best to raise you as a mother should

A Fitting End - Poetry

I saw you across the crowded room

And knew you were meant for me

I want to hold you in my arms

And caress you so tenderly

But what I saw made me blue

Another woman was holding you

I was filled with jealous rage, I confess

Until her body got stuck fitting "MY" dress

Undying Faith

For my Mother, who is always loved, never forgotten.

There is sadness in me, now that you are gone
You left before your grandchildren were born

I felt so much sorrow when you passed away
And remember the tears cried that woeful day

Your loyal devotion to God in your agony of pain
Was something I questioned, you tried to explain

Why He would let you suffer, your body decayed
You loved Him too much and fervently prayed

I am older now, and understand the lesson you gave
And desperately want Him to touch my soul and save

Like you, the good times and the bad times I'll endure
For my renewed faith in Him will live forevermore

Bedtime Blues

Bedtime

Aw Mom, It cannot be time for bed
I'm not sleepy, let's play a game instead
It is still early, the clock just says eight
Just a little more time, I won't stay up late

I'm thirsty, please may I have some juice
Cards or tv, I think I will let you choose
You know, some cookies would be nice to eat
That sure would make a nice bedtime treat

I'll just watch tv while you go fix a snack
Take your time Mom, no need to hurry back
Staying up late is going to be my main mission
Cuz I love to watch Superman use his special vision

My Christmas Wish (Acrostic Poem)

Christmas Tree and Gifts

Many trees to trim, lots of tasty goodies to bake
You'd better remember the orphans' gifts to take

Christmas shoppers are frustrated and so tired
Having to get the kids' gifts, or they will be" fired"
Roll out the garland, quickly decorate the front door
In a minute carolers will come knocking once more
Snowmen and snow angels are bound to delight
Tow trucks are aplenty and giving us all a fright
Mealtimes will always be treasured occasions
As some relatives are coming from far locations
Special times that bring festivities for all nations

Warm the cider,  bring out some more wine
It is time for our prayers and then we'll dine
Seasons Greetings for a very Happy Holiday
Hoping all you wish for will come your way!

Give Me Love

Give me love without any reason
One that won't change with season
Give me love to be my dearest friend
A love that nurtures until the very end

Give me love as sunny as the day
So he'll see clearly to walk my way
Give me love branded on his heart
A love no-one will ever tear apart

Give me love, one so understanding and kind
No more deceiving love to play with my mind
Give me love that will show his tender care
I want to be happy, and not cry another tear
